Quick Guide for First-Time Dodgers 🤾🏼♂️
This sheet will help you jump in and have fun.
🏃 1. Game Start
When the game begins, keep one foot on the back line.
Run forward and grab a ball from the corner of your own side.
Don’t cross the centerline – if you do, you’re OUT!
🎯 2. How to Get Someone Out
Hit someone with a ball = they’re OUT.
Catch a ball = the thrower is OUT, and one of your teammates comes back in.
Block a ball with your own ball? That’s okay! But the ball stays “live,” so stay alert — if it hits you afterward, you’re still out.
⏱️ 3. Keep the Game Moving
If your team has more balls, you have 10 seconds to throw.
After 5 seconds, the ref will start counting.
No one throws in 10 seconds? You lose all your balls to the other team!
🚫 4. Common Mistakes to Avoid
False start? After 2 warnings, your team plays with only 5 players.
Stepping over the center line during play = OUT.
No cheating, swearing, or dangerous throws — you’ll get carded.
🟥 5. Cards = Penalties
Yellow Card = 5-minute time-out.
Red Card = You're out of the game + the next 2 matches.
If your team gets 4 yellow cards in one game = match over.
👀 6. The Ref is the Boss
The referee will shout, point, and blow the whistle to make decisions.
Don't agree? You can protest up to 2 times per match, but only the coach can do that.
